Take to the Florida skies and experience the thrill of flying with an introductory Private Pilot Licence course.

In partnership with Orlando Flight Training, we provide exciting opportunities for you to learn how to fly an aeroplane and gain your Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) Private Pilot Licence. Our 4 week course is suitable if you’re aged 17 or over, can read, speak and understand English, and have a head for heights! You will need to pass a Class 2 aviation medical, and subject to US law, you must also obtain an M-1 Training Visa prior to travelling to America.

The learning process is very practical, and you will spend quality time putting theory into practice in the air. There is a lot to learn from the initial ‘walk around’ to practicing emergency procedures, and you will also learn (to the required standard) avionics, engineering, human performance, meteorology, and radiotelephony. Our JAA PPL course provides an ideal way for you to experience your dream of flying, or to start a career in aviation. We strongly recommend as much pre course study as possible using the full PPL student study pack (which we can provide for you at an additional cost). If you happen to be a busy executive with time restrictions we also offer a separate 2 week VIP Private Pilot Programme. This course is very intensive and please contact us if you require further information.

the qualifications

The Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) is an associated body of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), primarily responsible for the advancement, safety and regulation of civil aviation in Europe. If you successfully complete the course, flight test and written examinations, the JAA PPL will enable you to fly in most countries worldwide including the UK.

the prospects

A JAA PPL enables you to fly the aircraft for which you are rated and you can also carry passengers, including your friends & family! If you wish to progress to the Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), we operate additional courses through Orlando Flight Training (including the Instrument Meteorological Rating and Night Rating). In order to progress, you will need to build hours of flight time (by hiring planes in blocks or by the hour) and this can be done through any Cabair Flying School, Orlando Flight Training’s UK partner.
